RCB Women WPL 2027 retentions: Full list of retained & released

The WPL 2027 retention list has brought several changes across the five franchises. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have retained 13 players and released four players ahead of the WPL 2027 auction. The move shows the team’s plans to keep its core squad while making some changes.

RCB are coming off a successful 2026 season, when they won the WPL title by defeating Delhi Capitals by six wickets in the final at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. RCB chased down a target of 204 runs, with Smriti Mandhana scoring 87 off 41 balls and Georgia Voll adding 79 runs.

Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have retained 13 players and released four players ahead of the WPL 2027 season. The team has kept most of the squad that helped them win the title last season.

Captain Smriti Mandhana will continue to lead the side, which includes key Indian players such as Richa Ghosh, Shreyanka Patil, Pooja Vastrakar and Radha Yadav. RCB will enter the new season with a similar squad and will look to build on their successful 2026 campaign.

The retention of Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry is one of the major developments. Perry missed the previous season due to personal reasons but is expected to be available for the upcoming campaign. Georgia Voll, Nadine de Klerk and Lauren Bell are the other overseas players retained by RCB.

What's next for RCB Women: WPL 2027 auction on October 28 in Kochi and season dates

The WPL 2027 season is set to begin on January 14 and will run until February 7. A total of 26 players have been released by the five franchises and will enter the auction pool ahead of the new season.

The WPL 2027 mini-auction will be held on October 28, 2026, at the Grand Hyatt in Kochi. Teams will have the chance to strengthen their squads by signing players available in the auction pool.

RCB have released four players and have freed up ₹1.45 crore in their purse. Grace Harris was released for ₹75 lakh, while Linsey Smith and Dayalan Hemalatha were released for ₹30 lakh each and Gautami Naik for ₹10 lakh. RCB will have room to make new additions during the auction.
