Shreyas Iyer was one of the key figures in Delhi Capitals' resurgence, leading the team to their first-ever IPL final as captain. His calm leadership and consistent batting made him a central figure in the squad.
However, the franchise eventually moved on from him, and he later found success with other teams, including a title-winning stint for the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2024 and a dream run for the Punjab Kings between the 2025 and 2026 editions. Letting go of a proven leader and dependable batter was a decision that did not work in DC’s favour.
