The 12th match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 is being played between India and the Netherlands at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. In this match, Namibia won the toss and elected to field first. Team India's opener Ishan Kishan took full advantage of this and scored his fastest half-century in the tournament in just 20 balls. Before getting out, Ishan played a 61-run innings off 24 balls, which included six fours and five sixes. Meanwhile, his strike rate was 254.16.

Namibia's captain Gerhard Erasmus, having won the toss, chose to bowl first, but Ishan Kishan, who came out to bat, started cautiously in the first two overs. However, as soon as his partner, Sanju Samson, got out, he showed an aggressive approach and began hitting boundaries against the bowlers. At one point, Ishan was playing at 22 runs off 14 balls, but then, when JJ Smit came to bowl the sixth over of India's innings, Ishan targeted him and scored 24 runs in that over, registering his fastest half-century in the T20 World Cup. In that over, Ishan hit four consecutive sixes and a four.

With his stormy innings, Ishan Kishan not only scored his fastest half-century in the T20 World Cup but also joined the list of special Indian batsmen who have scored the fastest fifties for Team India. Now, Ishan has become the fourth batsman, along with Yuvraj Singh, to score the fastest half-century for India in the T20 World Cup. At the top is Yuvraj, who scored a fifty in just 12 balls against England in the 2007 T20 World Cup. In second place is KL Rahul with 18 balls, followed by Rohit Sharma in third with 19 balls. In the fourth spot, Ishan now shares the position with Yuvraj.
