The ball swung a little and took the outside edge of the batter and flew into the slip region. Due to the pace of the ball, the slip fielder, despite jumping in the air, failed to grab the ball as it popped out of his hands before Geet Puri, who was the third man fielder inside the 30-yard circle, dived forward to grab the fine catch.
Shami wore a beaming smile as he took the catch, and the Strikers' owners and teammates were stunned by the fielding performance. Shami ended up with four wickets in the evening for 27 runs in his four-over spell.
