Virat Kohli is all set to return to India for the upcoming white ball series against Australia. India will play 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is in the away series starting from October 19. For that series, Virat will be returning to Delhi.

It was reported that the ace batter has been in London after taking retirement from Test cricket. Through the series against Australia, both Virat and Rohit Sharma will mark their comeback in their international cricket. Both of the players are retired from T20Is and Tests, so they have been out of action for a long time now. Virat last played his One Day International match back on March 9, 2025, against New Zealand, in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. It was a remarkable run for the Men in Blue. Both Sharma and Kohli were instrumental figures behind India's Champions Trophy 2025 triumph. Almost after 6 months, Rohit and Virat will be playing for India.

According to the latest updates, Virat can return to India on the coming Monday. From Delhi, the whole squad can take a flight to Australia.

Virat Kohli set to return to India

Ahead of the second Test match against the West Indies, Test and ODI team captain Shubman Gill made some significant comments about these two icons. Acknowledging their skills and experiences, Gill mentioned the ICC World Cup 2027.

"The experience they have and the number of matches they have won for India—there are very few players who have done that. There are very few players in the world with such skill, quality, and experience. From that perspective, we are definitely looking at them for 2027,” Gill told reporters ahead of the second Test against the West Indies in New Delhi on Thursday.
