When the Delhi Capitals posted a massive score of 264 runs for the loss of two wickets in their allotted 20 overs during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, it seemed like the chase wouldn’t be that easy for the visiting side.

But the opening stand of 126 runs in just 6.5 overs between Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh rocketed the Punjab side to a strong position in competing during the fixture. And the latter was in a different mood to take the big shots.

Prabhsimran Singh smashes six successive fours in IPL 2026

On the very first delivery of the sixth over of the innings against Mukesh Kumar, Prabhsimran scythed the drive through the cover-point region to celebrate his half-century off just 18 deliveries. He backed it up with another four as he thumped the short ball from the pacer into the wide of the mid-wicket region.

The third ball of the sixth over was nailed when Prabhsimran came down the surface and took the ball on the full to carve it over cover for a boundary. The fourth delivery of the over was full and wide of the right-handed batter, who opened the face of the bat and scooped it over the short third.

The next delivery was a wide full toss, and the batter threw his hands on the drive and got the thick edge as the ball flew wide of the wicket-keeper for another. He finished the over with the sixth four, becoming only the third such player to achieve the feat.

Prabhsimran celebrated the joint-fourth fastest fifty of the IPL for the Punjab Kings as they became the second fastest team to get 100 in IPL history in 5.2 overs. His 71* was the fifth individual score inside the power play of the IPL.

PBKS make aggressive start to DC’s 265-run chase
