The Pakistan pace-bowling all-rounder, Razaullah, received a grand reception on his return to the country after the end of the three-match Test series against England, which the home side went on to win by a 3-0 margin. The visitors showed some strong fightback with the bat during the third game at Edgbaston.

Razaullah was superb with the bat in the lower order, where he put up a century partnership for the ninth wicket with Mohammad Abbas, who also contributed 42 runs with the bat during the second innings of the encounter. The former showed his power against both the pacers and the spinners.

Razaullah has showed his capability at a young age with both the bat and ball in hand. The right-handed batter smashed long sixes around the park to notch up his half-century in the second innings. Root and his men had no idea how to set a specific field to break the stand.

Their partnership helped Pakistan get a lead of over 130 runs, as the home side earned the victory by eight wickets with both Joe Root and Jordan Cox remaining unbeaten on their respective fifties.

Razaullah’s debut wicket for Pakistan was of Root for eight runs. The right-handed batter was trapped leg before the stumps with the good-length delivery as the ball nipped back to catch the knee roll of the batter’s front pad.

Razaullah, during the second innings, smacked a thrilling knock of 81 runs off 63 balls at a strike rate of 128.57, thanks to four boundaries and nine sixes. That was the greatest number of boundaries by a batter on debut.

“I was being selective with which balls to slog, but they all seemed within range. I wanted to take it as deep as possible. I wasn't scared of pace. I wanted to punish the balls from Archer that landed on a hard length. There's nothing to be scared of when you're playing for your country. I was just enjoying myself.” Razaullah informed on his arrival in Pakistan.
