The God of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar, has made the nation really proud by some cracking performances with the bat across the three formats for more than two decades. Recently, he was found playing gully cricket with the local boys in Mumbai, and the video went viral on social media platforms.

Tendulkar’s journey in the game for India also started in local cricket, when he used to play with his brother, and since then, his graph has reached a different level. Over the years, he has shouldered the responsibility and hopes of Indian fans and gained success too.

Sachin picks up the bat again — And the magic is still there

The former Indian batter was seen to be batting outside a house around the right security as a bunch of young boys kept bowling at the ‘God of Cricket.’ They bowled a few underarm deliveries as Tendulkar took everyone in the memory book by playing the flick shots, using his sweet wrist.

One of the shots from his bat was nailed at a person who was passing by the place, as Tendulkar was a bit embarrassed at it. But he continued to play the shots. One of them was straight down the ground into the ‘V’ like he used to play to open his accounts in the past.

He posted the video on his Instagram account with a caption of “Some of my happiest cricket memories never had a scorecard’ which shows how emotional he becomes while playing these gully cricket games. After all, there is no pressure but the joy of the bat and ball.

From 100 International centuries to a billion hearts — Why Sachin remains the game's greatest ambassador

There was hardly any record Sachin didn’t break in his time across the three formats. He remains the leading run-getter in international cricket with the help of 34357 runs in 782 innings at an all-format average of 48.52 and an overall strike rate of 67.58, thanks to 164 half-centuries and 100 centuries at the best score of unbeaten 248 runs against Australia in Sydney.

Virat Kohli, three years ago, broke Tendulkar’s record of most centuries in the 50-over format. He tops the chart with 54 centuries in ODIs out of 299 innings, while Tendulkar sits at the top in the format with 18426 runs in 452 innings at an ODI average of 44.83 and an ODI strike rate of 86.23, thanks to 49 centuries and 96 fifties in the 50-over format.

Joe Root, who crossed the 14000-run mark against New Zealand at the Kennington Oval recently, could overtake Tendulkar, who is in the second position, having recorded 41 centuries and 67 fifties.

With his success, including the 2011 ODI World Cup win, Tendulkar remains a great ambassador of the game, not only for Indian cricket but also for the world to inspire several generations.
