The Indian ODI captain, Shubman Gill, takes a stunning one-handed catch to dismiss the Afghanistan batter, Allah Ghazanfar, during the opening ODI of the three-match series in Dharamsala.

Shubman Gill, on many occasions, in the past, has shown his fabulous fielding show around the field. And he continued to impress with a one-handed blinder during the opening ODI of the three-match series against Afghanistan to dismiss Allah Ghazanfar in Dharamsala.
It was a rain curtailed 25-over per-side clash as the hosts won the toss and decided to field first on a surface, which was under the covers for a long time due to the persistent drizzle through the afternoon and the days before the game.
One hand, one chance — How Gill's reflex catch at mid-off changed the game instantly
On the fourth ball of the 22nd over of the first innings, the debutant spinner, Harsh Dubey, tossed up the ball slower and just outside the off stump as the right-handed batter, Allah Ghazanfar, backed away on the pull and got a thick-edge.

The ball flew quickly to the left of the slip fielder, where Gill reacted quickly and pushed his left hand across as the ball stuck. He ensured that it didn’t get popped out as he rolled across on the ground. India pulled things back smartly with two wickets in the over.

Earlier in the same over, Dubey picked up the vital wicket of Azmatullah Omarzai for 26 runs off 16 balls. The right-handed batter charged down the ground and missed the connection, only to get stumped by the wicket-keeper, Ishan Kishan.
Afghanistan under pressure: Gill's catch shifts momentum towards India
The Afghanistan innings could have been divided into two parts. In the first, Rahmanullah Gurbaz smashed 102 runs off 51 balls at a strike rate of 200 with the help of eight boundaries and as many sixes. But apart from that, most of the batters struggled to get going from the top to bottom.

The second highest individual score of the line-up was of 27 runs by their captain, Hashmatullah Shahidi, as they ended up with 194 runs, getting bundled out in 24.5 overs. Both the debutants picked up three wickets each. Gurnoor Brar ended with 3/27 while Harsh Dubey had figures of 3/47.
