Even though Virat Kohli won’t be part of the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan at home due to injury, around a week after winning his second consecutive Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), winning the final against the Gujarat Titans, he was seen to be in a light mood.
Kohli and Anushka Sharma turned up at a function where Kohli’s hilarious words against the reaction of a fan went viral on social media platforms. The right-handed batter’s words brought a massive smile to everyone’s face.

The video seemed to be coming from a function where Virat Kohli and his wife, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, stopped before the date to give pictures to the reporters. As it generally becomes the situation, the crowd gathered densely to take the pictures.

That was when one of the fans asked Kohli and Anushka to stand together closely and take the picture. That fan had a slip of tongue, to which he called ‘Anushka Sir’ before correcting his mistake in the conversation.
Just after completing the pictures, Kohli hilariously asked the fans to call him ‘Virat Maam’ just as they called Anuska ‘Anushka Maam’. The reporters smiled as the Indian star was about to enter the gate.
Why is Virat Kohli not playing IND vs AFG ODI series 2026?
India have been forced to make a change at the eleventh hour in their squad for the ODI series against Afghanistan as Kohli has been forced out of the series due to a hamstring injury, which he picked up during the IPL 2026 final.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), during the squad announcement for the England and Ireland T20Is, confirmed that Yashasvi Jaiswal would replace Kohli as the southpaw has played in only four 50-over games.

“With Virat at this point, it's just been less than a week since he injured himself in the [IPL] finals. We don't know the timelines yet," Agarkar said. "But it looks like he might be fit for that England one-day series. It's not a definitive answer, so don't hold me to it. I haven't had a clear timeline from the physio yet.” The chairman of selectors, Ajit Agarkar, expressed.
Though the board hasn’t made clear the comeback for Kohli, there is a chance that he would miss the ODI series against England, scheduled in July.
