Watch: What Heinrich Klaasen did to Josh Hazlewood in just one over during SRH vs RCB IPL 2026 will leave you speechless
Heinrich Klaasen produced one of the most brutal batting displays of IPL 2026, completely destroying Josh Hazlewood in the 12th over of SRH's innings against RCB. Watch the video and read the complete news here.

Half-centuries from Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen powered Sunrisers Hyderabad to a dominant 55-run victory in Hyderabad. SRH ended their IPL 2026 league-stage campaign on a high note, although they could not secure a top-two finish. Despite the defeat, Royal Challengers Bengaluru remained at the top of the IPL 2026 points table and will now face Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1 on May 26.
The high-voltage clash had already grabbed attention because of the heated on-field exchange between Virat Kohli and Travis Head. However, it was Klaasen’s destructive batting in the death overs that completely changed the momentum of the game. The former South Africa star launched a brutal attack on Josh Hazlewood, smashing three massive sixes in a single over and putting the Australian pacer under immense pressure. Hazlewood also bowled multiple wides during the over as Klaasen collected 27 runs from it, making it the most expensive over of Hazlewood’s T20 career.
With Klaasen and Kishan dominating in the final overs, SRH added 66 runs in the last five overs of the innings to post a massive total of 255. RCB’s bowling attack struggled throughout the match and failed to control the run flow at any stage. In reply, Bengaluru started positively but eventually fell short while chasing the huge target. Klaasen goes berserk: 5 fours & 2 sixes off Hazlewood in the most expensive over of IPL 2026
Heinrich Klaasen was at his destructive best as he tore apart Josh Hazlewood during the IPL 2026 clash in Hyderabad. The former South Africa star smashed three massive sixes and a boundary in a brutal over that completely shifted the momentum in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s favour. Hazlewood also struggled with his line under pressure and bowled a series of wides during the over.
The former Protea keeper-batter immediately targeted the Australian pacer with aggressive strokeplay and never allowed him to settle. The right-hander used the pace brilliantly and cleared the boundary with ease as the Hyderabad crowd erupted in celebration. With boundaries flowing regularly and extras adding to the damage, SRH collected a massive 27 runs from the over.
The over eventually became the most expensive over of Hazlewood’s T20 career. Known for his accuracy and disciplined bowling across formats, the experienced fast bowler rarely goes for runs at such a rate. However, Klaasen’s fearless attacking approach left Hazlewood with very few answers on the night.
Josh Hazlewood's nightmare continues — concedes 27 in a single over as SRH take control vs RCB
The 12th over of SRH's innings was a complete disaster for Josh Hazlewood. He started the over by bowling to Ishan Kishan, but his first ball was a slower ball that came in too high — the umpire called it wide. Kishan then mistimed a full delivery to deep cover for a single, and Heinrich Klaasen came onto strike. Before Klaasen even faced a legal ball, Hazlewood bowled two more wides — one down the leg side and another, a slower ball that was again too high. Three wides had already been bowled, and Klaasen had not even swung his bat once.
Once Klaasen got his chance, he made Hazlewood pay for every mistake. The first legal ball he faced was a yorker that did not land right, and Klaasen flicked it over mid-wicket for a six. The next ball was a pace-change delivery that still sat up nicely, and Klaasen lofted it straight over long-on for another six. Another wide followed, and then Klaasen reached out with almost one hand to punch a boundary through a backward point. The next ball was a low full toss, and Klaasen smashed it over long-on for his third six — almost with his eyes closed. It was that easy for him.
By the last ball, the damage was already done. Hazlewood finally bowled a good wide yorker, and Klaasen could only push it to deep cover for one run. But 27 runs had already come off the over — the most Hazlewood has ever conceded in a single over in T20 cricket. It was the over that gave SRH full control of the match and left RCB with too much to do.
How this one over by Klaasen completely changed the SRH vs RCB match
The combination of aggressive strokeplay and extras pushed the over to 27 runs and shifted the momentum heavily in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s favour. The over also brought an unwanted record for Josh Hazlewood, as it became the most expensive over of his T20 career. Known for his control and disciplined bowling across formats, Hazlewood rarely faces such punishment. However, Heinrich Klaasen’s fearless attacking approach left the experienced pacer with very few answers.
Apart from Klaasen’s explosive batting, Ishan Kishan also played a major role in Hyderabad’s dominant performance. The left-hander provided excellent support and kept the scoreboard moving with aggressive yet controlled batting. Together, Kishan and Klaasen completely took the game away from Royal Challengers Bengaluru during the death overs.
With both batters in full flow, Sunrisers Hyderabad produced another batting masterclass and posted a massive 255/4 in Hyderabad on Friday. Kishan smashed a brilliant 79 off 46 balls, while Klaasen hammered 51 off just 24 deliveries, including five sixes. Nitish Kumar Reddy added the finishing touches with an unbeaten 29 off 12 balls as SRH scored 66 runs in the final five overs. RCB’s bowlers struggled throughout the innings and were eventually left chasing a daunting target of 256.
In the end, Klaasen’s brutal assault on Hazlewood proved to be the turning point of the innings. The momentum gained from that over allowed SRH to finish strongly and put RCB completely under pressure. Hyderabad’s powerful finish once again highlighted their batting depth and ability to dominate attacks in the death overs.
