To take the field after the death of his mother, it must have taken a lot of courage for Mukesh Choudhary, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star bowler. In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 clash against the Mumbai Indians (MI), the fans weren't expecting Mukesh to be in the playing XI. However, when he came to bowl in the second over and dismissed Quinton de Kock, that spoke volumes about the player and his mental strength.

MI decided to bowl first, and it definitely looked like a good one as CSK kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Despite that, they put up 208 runs on the board. Sanju Samson slammed an unbeaten century while the rest of the batters scored cameos.

Mukesh Choudhary dismisses Quinton De Kock in IPL 2026

Mukesh Choudhary bowled a brilliant spell today against the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL 2026. To play after his mother's demise is definitely not an easy thing to do, but he did it anyway and with great force. Mukesh bowled four overs and picked up one wicket. He conceded 31 runs in his bowling quota.

He dismissed Quinton de Kock in the second over and went on to look at the sky to thank his mother. The moment was quite emotional for the player. His strength and courage to take the field and play in today's game deserve utmost respect from everyone.

His bowling helped CSK put pressure on the MI batters, which worked like magic for the visitors. CSK are currently leading the race as we write, as MI have lost six wickets in the match, including their set batter Tilak Varma. Recovering from here looks difficult for the home team.

Brief Scores (at the time of writing): MI 85/6 (Tilak Varma 37, Akeal Hossein 3/14) vs CSK 207/6 (Sanju Samson 101*, AM Ghazanfar 2/25)
