After the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 clash between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur, Rohit Sharma’s special message to Venkatesh Iyer’s friend goes viral on social media.  

Rohit has always been a friendly person who shares tips with the youngsters at the end of the game, irrespective of the IPL or the international fixtures. And he was seen to be engaged in a friendly video call with Venkatesh’s friend after their last-ball defeat against RCB a couple of days ago.

Mumbai held their nerve for a long time in the 167-run defense against Bengaluru before some late flourish of the hosts claimed their two-wicket victory to move to the top of the points table, as they have seven wins in 11 games at a strong net run rate (NRR) of +1.103. The five-time champions, however, are eliminated with just three wins in 11 games.

After the game, a video went viral where Rohit Sharma was seen to put his hands in the prayer mode against someone called Piyush, who seems to be Venkatesh’s friend. The former Indian captain asked about the health of the person, besides hilariously telling him to take care of the all-rounder.

It wasn’t a superb game with the bat for the opener as he was dismissed for 22 runs off 10 balls. Rohit smashed two boundaries and as many sixes in the decent knock at a strike rate of 220. Despite going through the raw emotions of losing the contest, his gesture has stolen the show after the RCB vs MI clash.

Rohit currently has bagged 243 runs in IPL 2026 at an average of 48.60 and a strike rate of 177.37, thanks to two half-centuries at the best score of 84 runs. Meanwhile, Venkatesh Iyer has featured in just two games of the IPL 2026 and collected 41 runs at a strike rate of 136.66.
