The Sydney derby again and this time it comes with Smith and Warner taking each other on. Both sides are well placed on the table and likely to make the Finals with this game proving to be a chance to get their squads right.
Date January 17th, 2025
Time: 1:45PM IST
Venue: Sydney Cricket Ground
Clear weather and a nice evening is expected for the game.
The Showgrounds stadium can be pretty dry and get better for bowling towards the back of the season. Batting second though could be better to start with.
Sam Konstas, David Warner, Cameron Bancroft, Oliver Davies, Sam Billings, Sherfane Rutherford, Daniel Sams, Chris Green, Nathan McAndrew, Tanveer Sangha, Lockie Ferguson
Josh Phillipe, James Vince, Jack Edwards, Moises Henriques, Jordan Silk, Joel Davies, Hayden Kerr, Ben Dwarshius, Daniel Hughes, Sean Abbott, Todd Murphy
Moises Henriques
At 38, Moises Henriques continues to enjoy his cricket. Nearly out of international reckoning, Henriques has a chance of doing something similar to Dan Christian who also used the Sixers to make a late comeback in his career.
Daniel Sams
Sams the all-rounder has started the tournament well. His bowling was not the greatest but his batting will definitely be something that makes Thunder happy.
Normally, Sixers start favorites in the Sydney Derby but both sides are pretty balanced now. Sixers may start initial favorites though but marginally.
