Virat Kohli in IPL Playoffs: Avg of 32.1 in knockouts after RCB win IPL 2026

Virat Kohli has an average of 32.1 in 19 innings of the Indian Premier League (IPL) Playoffs heading into the IPL 2027. He remained unbeaten on 75 runs in the final to win RCB's second title in IPL 2026.

With just 5`14 runs in 19 innings of the Playoffs stage in the Indian Premier League (IPL) at an average of 32.1, Virat Kohli has his work cut out for the knockout stage of the competition. Someone who always takes pride in delivering under pressure, Kohli has been at his best in this aspect.         

However, the veteran remained unbeaten on 75 runs for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) during the final of the IPL 2026 against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It was a sensational knock with wickets falling from the other end at a cluster. 

What is Virat Kohli's IPL Playoffs record? Avg 32.1 in 19 innings — The full numbers

The former Indian captain has featured in 10 innings of the IPL Playoffs. He has collected 514 runs at an average of around 32 and a strike rate of over 130, thanks to three half-centuries at the best score of 75 runs.  

When the Bengaluru side reached the Playoffs in 2011, Kohli smacked 113 runs in three innings at an average of 56.50 and a strike rate of 128.40 with one half-century at the best score of 70. Out of those, he got 70* in the first qualifier, before adding eight runs in the second qualifier. In the final, he got 35 runs in 32 balls against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). 

Last year, when they won their maiden title of the event, the Delhi-born drilled 55 runs in the Playoffs at a strike rate of 117. Out of these 55 runs, he got 43 runs in the final, while 12 runs came off his bat in the first qualifier. 

Overall, Kohli has a dot ball percentage of 32.2 in this Playoffs history of his IPL career, having nailed 44 boundaries and 14 over boundaries. 

Kohli’s IPL 2026 form — 675 Runs, 105*, SR 165.84 — Can he carry it into Final? 

Kohli finished as the fourth leading run-getter of the IPL 2026. He has, however, scored the most runs for the franchise in that edition of the competition with 675 runs in 16 innings at an average of 56.25 and a decent strike rate of 165.84, scoring five half-centuries and one century.

For Bengaluru in winning the title for the second successive edition, Kohli played a massive role with the bat and showed how to shoulder the responsibility under pressure when the occassion was big and they needed him the most. 

Kohli vs Rabada: Who has the edge? Head-to-Head record 

Kohli, in the last meeting against GT, smacked Rabada for five boundaries in an over before the Protea pacer took the sweet revenge with the wicket of the star batter. In this IPL 2026, the former RCB captain has smashed the pacer for 88 runs in just 37 balls at a strike rate of more than 235.

Overall, the battle is in favor of Rabada, who has got the better of the India star four times in IPL history at an average of 31, leaking 124 runs in 69 balls. The battle between him and Rabada was facinating during the final where the batter had the upper hand over the Protea pacer.
