The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 clash between the Delhi Capitals (DC) and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) was expected to be an exciting contest for both sides. The loser of the contest would fall out of the top four playoff spots. And on a vital evening, Anukul Roy put them in a strong position.

Just like the previous evening at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, KKR, under the leadership of Ajinkya Rahane, decided to open the bowling with the left-arm spinner to counter the two right-handed opening batters, KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka.

How Did Anukul Roy Take Two Wickets in One Over Against DC in IPL 2026?

Since his return to the playing eleven, the DC opener, Pathum Nissanka, has been superb with the bat, showing his aggression inside the powerplay. He welcomed Anukul Roy with a boundary on the second ball into the deep mid-wicket region to get off the mark.

Watch the video here:

The right-handed batter nailed Vaibhav Arora for a massive six to the backward square leg before pulling the short ball over the deep mid-wicket for the same result. After flicking the ball on the pads against Cameron Green for another six, he celebrated his second half-century in the last three clashes with a powerful four.

But the KKR spinner had the last laugh with Nissanka’s wicket on the second ball of the eleventh over. It was a wide delivery outside the off stump, inviting the batter to use his feet. Nissanka missed the connection and was stumped for 50 runs off 29 balls.

The over finished with another wicket of Tristan Stubbs for just two runs off four balls. This time, the Jharkhand spinner pushed it quickly on the off stump. This one hurried on him as he hung back, and Stubbs was squared up with the ball going past the bat to hit the off stump.

The left-arm spinner finished with 2/31 in four overs at an economy rate of under eight. He now has eight wickets in 10 games of the IPL 2026 at an economy rate of just under nine. The Capitals were restricted to 142 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
