Watch Babar Azam’s frustrated reaction after being dismissed on 42 runs in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2026. See how he fell, the moment he walked off, and how he prepares for the upcoming Sri Lanka series for Pakistan

It has been a worrying sign for Pakistan ahead of their two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, which begins on November 09, as their captain, Babar Azam, continues to struggle with the bat. The right-handed batter, representing the Lahore Whites, got out for 42 runs and hit his bat on the turf in frustration.
Babar has gone through a tough time in the recent past with the bat. Even during the recently finished tri-series against Sri Lanka and England, the veteran failed to get a fifty and was dismissed in the same fashion through the two weeks against the pacers and the spinners.

Babar started well in the second innings of the game with a flurry of boundaries. He also looked to take singles and doubles in the knock to keep the scoreboard going. But he ended up making the same mistake and looked frustrated as he smashed the bat on the turf.

The right-arm pacer, Shahid, went with a length delivery far away from the off stump of the batter, who went for a booming drive and ended up getting the outside edge into the hands of the first slip. He was dismissed for 42 runs off 77 balls as the moment went viral on social media platforms.

Babar Azam will be under pressure for the home series, as they drew their two-match red-ball series against the West Indies in the Caribbean while they were torn apart with a margin of 3-0 against England in the United Kingdom, when they sent back half of their squad in the middle of the series.
The opening game for Pakistan will be on November 09 at the Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium in Islamabad. This game is incredibly important for many players’ future in the red-ball format.
