Australian cricketer Josh Inglis is set to join the franchise in the crucial late stages of the IPL 2026. The 31-year-old wicketkeeper-batter is an important addition, as he was signed during the auction.
Inglis made his IPL debut in the 2025 edition, serving for the Punjab Kings (PBKS), who finished runners-up in that season. Despite impressive performance, PBKS decided not to retain him due to his unavailability in the first half of IPL 2026 due to his marriage. Understanding the situation, Lucknow Super Giants put a strong bid for the Australian cricketer in the accelerated round, which they won for INR 8.60 crore.
Inglis got married on April 18 and is spending some more time with the family before landing in India for the IPL 2026. According to the latest ESPNcricinfo report, Inglis is set to join LSG in early May to be available for the late stage of the tournament. The report further added that the Aussie cricketer may be available for the match against Mumbai Indians on May 4.

LSG are struggling at the moment, as the franchise is in the eighth position in the points table with four points in six games. Apart from two wins, which they snatched in the final over thrillers, they lost four other matches. The franchise needs some big wins in the upcoming games to stay afloat in the challenging points table.

While Punjab Kings finished runners-up in the IPL 2025, Inglis scored 278 runs in 11 innings with an average of 30.88 and a strike rate of 162.57, including one half-century. In late that season, Inglis was promoted to the no.3 batting position, where he mostly got positive starts but failed to convert to bigger scores. In the last six innings, he reached the 30-run mark five times, including one half-century.
