Twitter Reactions: Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma dismissed for low scores — ENG vs IND 1st ODI
Virat Kohli (5) and Rohit Sharma (11) fell cheaply in India's chase against England in the 1st ODI at Edgbaston. Here's how their dismissals unfolded and how fans reacted on Twitter/X to India's top-order collapse.

In what was their first ODI together since the end of the third ODI at the start of the year at home against New Zealand, both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma failed for low scores during the first of the three-match ODI series against England, as the game took place at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
India bowled brilliantly throughout the first innings against the home side, who won the toss and decided to bat first on the dry surface. They could have bundled out below 200 had Joe Root and Liam Dawson not celebrated the century-run stand for the seventh wicket.
Plumb in front: Kohli ignores Gill's review advice, walks back to Archer for 5
Kohli walked into the middle on the fall of Rohit’s wicket in the eighth over of the chase. On the third ball, the right-handed batter opened his account with a single. It was an important game for the Delhi-born, who plays only the 50-over format and didn’t feature in the previous ODI series at home against Afghanistan due to the injury.
Kohli got lucky to get a boundary on the second ball of the ninth over against Jofra Archer. It was short and angled into the batter, who swivelled across onto the pull as the ball flew over the wicket-keeper’s leaping gloves.

But Archer had the last laugh as his full delivery trapped Kohli before the stumps on five runs. The former Indian captain missed the flick and was struck bang in front of the middle stumps.
One loft too many: Rohit's ill-timed heave ends in a simple catch to Brook for 11
For Rohit Sharma, it was a vital series, given his off-form in the last couple of ODI series for the national side. And he was troubled by both Archer and Josh Tongue in the chase. After the fourth over, he was on four off 15 balls before spending the next two overs at the non-strikers’ end. But he broke the shackles with a boundary over the square leg region.

But one shot too many brought the curtains down as he was dismissed for 11 runs while trying to play the aggressive shot as he skewed it off the outer half of the bat.
