India announce 15-member squad for ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026
Under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian side has announced their squad of 15 players for the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 in England.

India have gone with Yasika Bhati, the uncapped pacer Nandini Sharma, and Radha Yadav for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 in June-July in England. All of these three players didn’t feature in their most recent T20I series against South Africa away, which they went on to lose by a 4-1 margin.
This was the first T20I series defeat by the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side since the last T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. They got the better of West Indies, England, Sri Lanka, and Australia during that period.
Amanjot Kaur unavailable for selection in T20 World Cup 2026
All-rounder Amanjot Kaur won’t be part of the World Cup as she also missed the last trip with a back injury. The selectors had picked Kashvee Gautam as her replacement for the Protea series, where she also picked up an injury and was not available for the selection process.
Squad: Harmanpreet Kaur (captain), Smriti Mandhana (vice-captain), Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh (wk), Arundhati Reddy, Renuka Singh, Kranti Gaud, Shree Charani, Shreyanka Patil, Bharti Fulmali, Yastika Bhatia (wk), Nandani Sharma, Radha Yadav.

Gautam hurt her right knee and will need to go through the surgery, as the chief selector, Amita Sharma, expressed in the press conference in Mumbai, where their head coach and captain were also present. That means that there was no place for Anushka Sharma and Uma Chetry, who had made the tour to South Africa.
The same Indian squad will also take part in the three-match T20I series against England on May 28, May 30, and June 02.
India eyes T20 World Cup after earning ODI World Cup last year
Bhatia has been out of action with an injury and last featured for the Indian A side down under in August last year before undergoing ACL surgery in October. She has played 18 T20Is, the last of which was in April, two years ago.
This is the maiden call-up for the national side for Nandani, who has impressed with her fast-bowling skills in the Women’s Premier League, where he was part of the runners-up Delhi Capitals. In 10 games, she was the joint-top wicket-taker with 17 wickets along with Sophie Devine for her accuracy and variations.
