India will face Pakistan in the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 as it will be the opening game for both sides in the tournament. The game will take place on June 14 at Edgbaston in Birmingham, as the heat will be at its best during the contest.

As of now, the two sides have faced each other in 16 T20Is during women’s cricket, where the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side leads the head-to-head with a 13-3 margin. The blue brigade is on a three-match winning streak against the arch-rivals, whose last victory against India came in 2022 by 13 runs.

How India bowled Pakistan out for 105 — Arundhati Reddy's 3-wicket spell explained

The last T20I clash between India and Pakistan was from the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The Fatima Sana-led side batted first and was restricted to 105 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Nida Dar slammed 28 runs but at a very poor strike rate of 82.35, thanks to just one boundary. Their opening batter, Gull Feroza, was dismissed for a four-ball duck. Many of their batters got the starts but failed to convert them into big scores.

Arundhati Reddy ended up with three wickets in her four-over spell for an economy rate of 4.75, while Shreyanka Patil bagged 2/12 in her four overs, including a maiden. Meanwhile, Asha Sobhana, Deepti Sharma, and Renuka Singh picked up one wicket each.

Fatima bagged two wickets in her four-over spell. It was a hard surface to bat on. However, a great job from the bowling unit in the first innings of the game made it easier for the blue brigade.

What India's last win over Pakistan means for the June 14 Edgbaston clash

India have beaten Pakistan in three T20Is out of the 16 games at a win-loss ratio of 4.33. The first of the three victories came in 2012 during the T20 World Cup at Galle before they collected a lucky victory by two runs in Delhi during the rain-affected clash. The last win for Pakistan against India in WT20Is came in Sylhet in 2022.

In the batting department, India’s Mithali Raj leads the head-to-head against Pakistan in WT20Is with 315 runs in 10 innings with the help of two half-centuries. For Pakistan, Bismah Maroof is at the top with 248 runs in 14 innings, thanks to two fifties.

In the bowling department, both Ekta Bisht and Nida Dar are jointly at the top with 10 wickets in the face-off. Heading into the T20 World Cup 2026, Pakistan will need a better batting performance to challenge the clinical blue brigade.
