Watch: Ambati Rayudu & Mitchell McClenaghan mock Akash Singh’s ‘rubbish’ note celebration in LSG vs CSK IPL 2026
The former star players, Ambati Rayudu and Mitchell McClenaghan, mock the 'rubbish' note celebration of Akash Singh during the IPL 2026 clash between LSG and CSK in Lucknow.

The former star players of the Mumbai Indians (MI), Ambati Rayudu and Mitchell McClenaghan, mocked the note celebration of Akash Singh, who brought out a piece of paper with a message during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 clash between the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
The pacer showed his superb skills with the ball against the top order of the five-time champions. However, these regular chit celebrations have been ongoing, and this has made the two veterans laugh at it as the video went viral on social media platforms.
Akash Singh’s celebration in IPL 2026 divides the cricket world
Akash Singh, after being smashed for a boundary by the CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, took the sweet revenge of dismissing the right-handed batter, who was hurried on to play the short ball as he mistimed the pull shot into the hands of the fielder.
He soon took the chit out of his pocket and showed it to the fans, which had words of ‘Akki on fire, Akash knows how to take wickets in a T20 game’ written on it.
The pacer also dismissed Sanju Samson and Urvil Patel to end with figures of 3/26 in his four overs at an economy rate of 6.50.
Is flashy celebrating going too far? Rayudu & McClenaghan think so after LSG vs CSK
The former Indian batter, Ambati Rayudu, and New Zealand pacer, Mitchell McClenaghan, have called for a ban on them. While the former copied the ‘rubbish’ part of Geoffrey Boycott, the former left-arm pacer wondered how many critics Akash got, who hasn’t played so many games.

“I just want to know at what point today he thought. Hey, this will be awesome. Like, I'll pull this out on TV. Everybody thinks I'm cool. I also want to know who his friends were that he told backed him up and said that would be a great idea.” McClenaghan expressed on ESPNcricinfo.
“Exactly, like haha. Laugh at him, like, 'Oh my gosh.' I'm actually flabbergasted with some of this generation that's coming through. Like putting your fingers up on your first real performance on the IPL when you've only just turned up on the scene, we've only just learnt your name. Stuff like that, jeez, how many haters have you got, bro?” He added.
Rayudu also made fun of the entire situation as he called it ‘absolute nonsense.’
“I just think that's his manifestation. It may not go down well with a lot of people, but it's kind of funny and a bit of rubbish, like haha. Absolute nonsense. I mean, I don't think you're supposed to bring chits anywhere.”
